cuteness!

minerals

i bought a few more pretty minerals to add to my collection while we were away. a couple in hedley (had to get some pyrite in mining country) and a couple in osoyoos.

the desert

we are back from our brief getaway to osoyoos. boy i love it there.
i think the contrast between the desert and the lush vineyards is amazing.

we went to a couple wine tastings, not too many this trip. we did go to a new one for us, church and state, and it was wonderful! the tasting room was beautiful, very clean and modern and the wine was delicious.


we went on a few walks around the property we stayed at and saw beautiful osprey that were hunting to feed their babies.


we also were really hoping to see a rattlesnake and we did!! it was avoiding the sun under the foot bridge we were standing on. it looked like it was sleeping, but somehow i doubt it. i'm sure it knew we were very close trying to snap a picture.





and on our last morning, before i learned how to play ping pong (must get a table!) and took a dip in the pool, we went for a very early morning walk down to the lake and saw a deer. we weren't quick enough to get a picture though.

another fern

i bought this maidenhair fern yesterday to put in my new plant container from a lovely lady. i love it. thanks again!
i sure hope i don't kill it as quickly as i did the last one. any great tips on ferns out there?
